Job Summary

Senior Platform Automation Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing DevOps and cloud based infrastructure automation capabilities to be used to host our containerized/microservice based applications. This role requires:

  • Extensive experience implementing/operating cloud based infrastructure and containerized environment
  • Extensive experience in developing automation via tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet
  • Ability to document designs, runbooks, KB articles, and provide TOIs/Training for operational support transition
  • Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize multiple parallel projects
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting and drive complex issues that requires multiple disciplines (network, security, compute, storage, etc.) to resolution
  • Ability to “self-teach” new technologies and become subject matter expert as needed
Job Requirements
  • Expert-level experience with configuration management/orchestration tools (Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Puppet, Salt, etc)
  • Expert-level experience administering Linux
  • In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes/Container deployments
  • Experience with GIT
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, storage concepts
  • Solid understanding of SDLC
  • Experience building/supporting cloud based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) as well as on-prem cloud platforms (VMWare, Openstack)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Agile values and principles
  • Understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes
  • Experience with Python a plus
Education
  • BS degree in computer science or equivalent industry experience
  • 6-8 years of industry experience (3 years in a senior position)
