Job Summary

Reporting to Sr Manager, Technical Revenue Accounting, the primary responsibility of the Revenue Analyst is to provide technical guidance for new product introduction, ensure proper revenue attributes are assigned, provide revenue input for emerging business models, and revenue support for complex contracts. The individual is expected to adapt in a fast-paced work environment, and work effectively within revenue team and with various stakeholders to meet tight deadlines. The individual has the opportunity to influence, design and implement accounting processes for emerging business models from ground up.

Job Requirements

Be a subject matter expert responsible for providing technical accounting guidance over new product introduction.
•    Review revenue attributes assignment to ensure transactions would flow through accounting systems end-to-end.
•    Perform contract review and document the revenue impacting terms and conditions from contracts with customer.
•    Collaborate with field finance, legal and other teams to support deal structuring for complex deals.
•    Partner with other stakeholders to review, design and implement processes to ensure proper accounting for emerging business models; take initiative to create solutions where none exist and drive change where there is room for improvement.
•    Develop and enhance NetApp revenue accounting policies, including assisting in writing accounting position papers.
•    Identify analytical requirements and design processes, analyses, reports, and dashboards to track metrics and key insights and trends.
•    Collaborate with the Revenue Ops Team to ensure proper and timely accounting close.
•    Provide revenue trainings to product managers and other finance teams.
•    Perform month-end close activities related to emerging business models.
•    Ad hoc projects and analysis to answer business questions and evaluate strategic opportunities.


Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
•    A minimum of 4-6 years of accounting and revenue experience
•    CPA or big-4 experience preferred
•    Ability to work independently and perform accounting research
•    Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to meet firm deadlines is a must
•    Ability to influence and partner with business colleagues throughout the organization to design and implement new processes
•    Expert understanding of the principles of revenue recognition (ASC 606) and working knowledge of US GAAP
•    Experience with accounting operations (e.g. reconciliations) and strong Excel skills 
•    Experience with Oracle/RevPro preferred
