Job Summary

As a Financial Analyst supporting the World-Wide Service and Support organization, specifically Professional Services, you will play an essential role in providing financial analysis and guidance to NetApp PS leadership by providing financial support and analysis in budgeting, planning and business processes. You will perform economic research, studies and financial modeling to help future business planning decisions and create reports and summaries as required by Corporate procedure or compliance regulations.  You will interface with cross-functional peers and managers and have an opportunity to contribute across various business challenges.

Essential Functions

The Financial Analyst’s role has responsibility for a wide range of financial support and analysis tasks.   You will help to ensure that Professional Services objectives and project deadlines are met and align to NetApp Strategy.   The essential functions of the Professional Services financial support model include:

  • Provide Business Partnership, Decision Support and Fiduciary guidance
  • Prepare and drive operational and financial metrics in support of key decision making
  • Participate in projects related to financial systems or business processes
  • Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts
  • Work with cross-functional groups to provide financial support including:
    • Forecasting
    • Budgeting
    • Variance analysis
    • Cost analysis
    • Product pricing
    • Management Reporting
    • Organization and Cost Center Structure
    • Revenue and Operational Policy review
    • SOX and Audit testing
  • Participate in Close Cycle – prepare and post JEs for areas of responsibility
  • Integrate financial processes and operations of the business
Job Requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and on cross functional teams.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas.

  • Ability to work in a project based environment.
  • Ability to follow standard accounting and finance practices, and departmental procedures and processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle G/L Applications.
Responsibility and Interaction

Responsibility:

  • The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and  unstructured, requiring creative solutions.
  • This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.

Interaction:

  • This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects.  There may be communication with employees in other functions and geographies.
  • Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities.
  • The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.
  • To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others.
Education

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required.  4 to 6 years of experience is preferred.  

A University Degree or equivalent experience is required.
