Job Summary

As a Technical Program Manager you will plan, influence, lead, and manage hardware (HW) quality in the Customer Support Organization. 

Essential Functions:
Responsible for hardware quality and managing programs to drive, customer service, quality and cost goals. Specific areas of focus include:
- Provide a leadership role to the technical team of professionals to drive proactive risk management of HW issues, including customer communication and remediation.
- Keep management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.
- Analyze problems and drive solutions involving multiple elements of program planning.
- Ensure that projects adhere to the company processes and initiate process improvements as needed.

Job Requirements

- Technical understanding of the storage system quality. 
- Understanding of the pre and post- release HW quality metrics. 
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills. 
- Strong development process skills (requirements, development, test practices, deployment and support). 
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate on varying technical levels with Global Services, Engineering, and internal and external customers. 
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined feature and metrics requirements. 
- <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Must be able to communicate with senior management and present approaches and findings using analytical and problem-solving skills effectively
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices.

- Experience driving product quality remediation programs. 

- Ability to develop longer-range project plans and schedules for individual or work for a small team. 

Responsibility and Interaction: 
- The tasks this individual is responsible are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches. 
- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation. 
- Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions. 

- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Director level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties. 
- Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently. 
- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert. 
- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others.


Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree.

- At least 8 years experience in product development and product support.
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex projects.

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">- Lean six sigma practical experience is a plus

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">- Mathematics, Statistics, or similar field; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent combination of relevant education/training/certifications and years of applicable professional experience.
