Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled GitHub, Automation & DevOps Engineer (IC Level 3) specialising in backend development and automation engineering. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Go (Golang), automation of developer workflows, and a strong passion for DevOps, security, and AI-driven solutions. This role focuses on building and maintaining robust automation pipelines for GitHub, enhancing testing frameworks, and developing AI-powered log analysis and security features.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and optimising GitHub workflows, managing build and security pipelines, supporting teams globally, and being on-call for incident response.
Job Requirements
GitHub Automation & Operations
- Design, implement, and maintain automation tools and workflows for GitHub repositories using Go.
- Develop GitHub Actions, bots, and integrations to streamline code review, CI/CD, and release processes.
- Manage and optimise GitHub security features, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks.
Build, Security & Test Pipelines
- Architect and develop secure, reliable build and deployment pipelines.
- Automate security checks, vulnerability assessments, and compliance reporting within CI/CD workflows.
- Build and enhance automated test frameworks to improve code quality, test coverage, and deployment confidence.
- Integrate testing and reporting tools into CI/CD pipelines for real-time visibility.
AI-Driven Log & Security Analysis
- Develop AI/ML solutions to analyze application and system logs.
- Detect anomalies, surface actionable insights, and automate incident response workflows.
Support & Collaboration
- Provide technical support for automation, CI/CD, and DevOps tools to internal engineering teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with DevOps, Security, and AI/ML teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Support teams globally and be on-call for operational incidents.

- GitHub: Responsible for Operation, Consulting, and Automation.
- Automation: End-to-end automation of developer workflows and infrastructure.
- DevOps: Deep integration with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and deployment pipelines.
- Security: Building secure pipelines, automating security checks, vulnerability scanning, and compliance.
- AI & Machine Learning: Applying AI/ML techniques to operational data for proactive insights.
- Support & Enablement: Empowering engineering teams with robust tooling and support.
Success Metrics
- Reduction in manual intervention for developer workflows.
- Support and GitHub Build Creation.
- Increased automation and visibility in test frameworks.
- Improved detection and response to security and operational incidents.
- Positive feedback from engineering teams regarding automation and support.
- Strategic advice on infrastructure setup, automation, and testing.
Education
Experience
- 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years using GitHub and Go in production.
- Proven track record of building automation for developer workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions).
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang).
- Experience with GitHub actions, automation tools.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, Docker).
- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (Azure).
- Experience or interest with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., CoPilot, Cursor) for log analysis is a plus.
- Understanding of security best practices in software development and DevOps.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Prior work in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Cloud expertise in Azure.

Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range.
