As Sales Director, you will lead Instaclustr’s global sales team, driving exponential growth through strategic leadership, talent development, and operational excellence. You’ll be responsible for hiring, coaching, and inspiring high-performing sellers, setting ambitious goals, and ensuring results across a significant book of business. Your leadership will shape new sales methods, solve complex challenges, and establish strategic plans that impact Instaclustr’s long-term success.

 

You will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, focusing on open-source database adoption and data-layer modernization. By educating customers on managed services and migration strategies, you’ll drive pipeline growth and expand Instaclustr’s reach within NetApp’s install base and new buyer personas. Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with NetApp’s account teams, channel partners, VARs, and cloud providers to execute joint go-to-market strategies and accelerate customer adoption.

 

Building strong relationships with senior management, executives, and major customers, you’ll negotiate matters of significance and reconcile multiple stakeholder views to drive business results. You’ll align with NetApp’s field sales, product, and marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging and coordinated sales motions, providing valuable feedback on customer needs, industry trends, and competitive positioning.

Job Requirements

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a global sales team, setting targets and inspecting for results.
  • Drive new business and expansion opportunities, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
  • Educate customers on open-source technologies, managed services, and migration strategies to accelerate pipeline growth.
  • Collaborate closely with NetApp’s account teams to co-sell Instaclustr solutions into NetApp’s install base.
  • Develop and execute joint go-to-market strategies with channel partners, VARs, and cloud providers.
  • Enable partners to position Instaclustr’s value proposition in customer engagements.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers across NetApp, partners, and customers.
  • Align with NetApp’s field sales, product, and marketing teams for consistent messaging and coordinated sales motions.
  • Provide market feedback to leadership and product teams, participate in joint sales planning and customer strategy discussions.

 

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of enterprise sales or solutions selling experience in cloud, data infrastructure, or open-source technologies.
  • Deep understanding of open-source databases and data-layer modernization challenges.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and building C-level relationships.
  • Experience driving co-selling motions with technology partners and managed service providers.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to engage technical and business audiences.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable working in a global matrixed environment.
