Job Summary

As our Chief Kubernetes Architect, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of the world's first data management solution for first-party storage services. You will be responsible for designing the new architecture, leading the 1P design work, and acting as an evangelist within the Kubernetes community. Your focus will be on building a data intelligence platform on Kubernetes that enables multi-cloud data migration, data mobility, protection, and security for various customer-oriented solutions, including CI/CD, AI, and production use cases. This platform will be a part of the Astra product suite. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the architecture implementation of the new data intelligence platform based on Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with the product management team to drive a market-relevant roadmap for the platform.
  •  Act as a senior evangelist within the Kubernetes community, promoting the platform and driving adoption.
  • Engage directly with customers, understanding their requirements, and providing technical guidance and support.
  • Manage and coordinate teams across India and the US, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define and refine the platform's architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Drive the integration of cross-region replication, cross-zone replication, and interactions with storage interfaces like S3 and external DBAAS.
  • Build upon the foundational elements of CSI to create a data platform with simple data primitives for control plane orchestration.
  • Keeping abreast with the latest trends and developments in the Kubernetes ecosystem, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement. 

Job Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Kubernetes Architect, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex solutions on Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Deep understanding of data management, migration, and security in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Understanding of AWS, GCP and Azure technologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, AI, and production use cases and their requirements in terms of data management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with customers, stakeholders, and the Kubernetes community.
  • Actively involved and engaged with the Kubernetes community.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with experience in leading and coordinating teams across different geographies.
  • Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of initiatives.
  • Experience with storage technologies such as RAID, Volumes, Replication solutions.
  • Relevant certifications in Kubernetes and cloud technologies are desirable.

Education

  • Minimum of 15+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.

The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations,  is $258,660 – $363,550. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education,  skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law.  In addition, the position may include some of the following comprehensive benefits such Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws, Company bonus/commission, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s).
