Job Summary

As a Social Impact Intern on the NetApp Serves team, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in NetApp's culture as you support our company’s values of Caring for Each Other and our Communities. The NetApp Social Impact team’s purpose is to empower our people to care for our communities and harness the power of data/AI for good, focusing strategically on: 

 

  • Data/AI Literacy - Expanding K-12 data/AI literacy  
  • Equity – Expanding access to data/AI skills and careers for underrepresented groups  
  • Environmental Sustainability – Accelerating data/AI solutions to support environmental sustainability [i.e. renewable energy] 

 

We do this by enabling employees to engage in their communities, investing strategically in nonprofit organizations, and collaborating with internal and external partners to maximize our collective impact. 
 

Job Requirements

Expected Projects 

  • Identify and develop an information portfolio of potential grantees -- local and global nonprofit organizations aligned with NetApp’s strategic focus areas and global footprint 
  • Research and benchmark various social impact initiatives with NetApp’s competitor and peer companies 
  • Develop and implement volunteer activities/events supporting our strategic focus areas that engage our Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs) and employees. 
  • Support our communications and social media campaign in alignment with Data and AI literacy month as well as other key diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) related dates 
  • Support the planning of on-site volunteering opportunities aligned with strategic focus areas. 
  • Process documentation to support business continuity.  

Education & Experience

Must be enrolled in an educational or professional program through summer 2024 or later. 

Interest in social impact and/or sustainability.

Strong project management skills.

Strong communications skills.
