Job Summary

team, the Lead Facilities Engineer provides essential services in supporting the
Business for all the Corporate Real Estate, Facilities Operations, Infrastructure
maintenance and Business Services of the workplace. The successful candidate must
demonstrate enthusiasm for and an ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work
environment. The Lead Facilities Engineer oversees the maintenance, repair and operation of the
facility's infrastructure and equipment, leading a team of engineers and
technicians. This role involves ensuring the facility operates efficiently, safely, and in
compliance with regulations
Job Location:
Based in San Jose, CA, the Lead Facilities Engineer has responsibilities for NetApp’s
303K sf HQ facilities in San Jose, CA. and 11K sf engineering labs in Santa Clara, CA.
Job Requirements
Capable of working independently or on a team, the Lead Facilities Engineer
troubleshoots problems, sets work priorities, schedules and coordinates preventative
and corrective maintenance programs, communicates and tracks performance metrics,
completing tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
This position requires strong internal customer focus, strong critical thinking skills,
and an aptitude for system-level learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to facility operations and maintenance
team.
• Proactively develop solutions to problems prior to providing updates to
management.
• Maintain and improve MEP, B&G and other facility systems. Respond to alarms
or emergencies during off-hours and take the lead in remediation efforts
• Makes decisions in the field when management is unavailable
• Ensure compliance with safety codes, regulations, and company standards,
including ISO 9001 and 14000 audits.
• Assist Site Operations Manager with facility budgets and expenses.
• Mentor and train team of engineers or technicians.
• Work closely and coordinate schedules and activities with IT, Engineering, Space
Planning, Business Services, Safety and Security and other teams
• Effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including customers and
management.
• Assist with Implementation of new Integrated Work Management System (IWMS)
platform for the assigned site. Ensure inventory of assets is correct, appropriate
maintenance tasks are associated with each piece of critical equipment and that
the System schedules the work as desired. Work with WX team to ensure task
assignments are correct, schedule is understood by team and necessary
documentation is prepared well in advance of work effort.
• May require travel to other sites within the Company to attend projects reviews,
budgeting exercises, offsites etc.
Education
• Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or related facilities
engineering field.
• Professional certification such as CPE, CFM or FMP is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in facilities operation, management or a related field.
• High level of expertise in buildings maintenance, MEP and other facility systems.
• Understanding of BAS controls (preferably Automated Logic), instrumentation,
and electronics
• Ability to manage small projects from inception to completion, including
budgeting and scheduling.
• Strong skills with Excel and other database spreadsheet applications.
• Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, working on ladders,
working in tight spaces, and carrying 50 pounds
• Valid California Driver’s License
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 102,850 - 152,900 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
