This is a hybrid role located in our San Jose, CA office. We require 2 days in office per week.

What You'll Do

Legal Technology Strategy & Management

  • Own and manage the Legal Department’s technology stack, including e-billing/matter management, contract management, IP management, eDiscovery, board administration, automation/workflow, analytics, and AI tools.
  • Regularly audit our technology portfolio against market trends to ensure we’re leveraging the best solutions.
  • Lead the exploration, development, and integration of AI-powered tools and other legal technology solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Create and execute 1-year and 3-year legal technology roadmaps that align with business priorities.
  • Implement effective knowledge management strategies, leveraging AI to drive information sharing and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with IT and AI teams to align legal technology projects with broader business initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership on the future of legal technology, guiding the legal team in embracing automation and AI innovations.
  • Develop and deliver communication plans and user trainings to support stakeholders through technology implementations and process changes.

 

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the full lifecycle of legal technology projects, from identifying needs and gathering requirements to articulating business cases, managing implementations, and driving post-deployment adoption.
  • Ensure all technology initiatives are executed with a focus on simplicity, scalability, and measurable ROI.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in the legal technology space, preferably within a corporate legal department.
  • Proven track record managing a diverse legal technology portfolio and leading large-scale, cross-functional projects/programs.
  • Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with technology, tools, and applications—including AI—used in corporate legal settings.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, planning, and execution skills.
  • Ability to balance technical and business considerations in developing AI and automation solutions.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience developing strategic or departmental planning materials, gathering consensus, and translating strategy into execution.
  • Skilled at simplifying and operationalizing processes and systems to drive efficient delivery of services at scale.
  • Eager to learn new things and apply knowledge to innovate, improve, and simplify processes.
