Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience to be a cornerstone of our IT infrastructure team. This is a technical, hands-on role for an expert who thrives on ensuring the stability, performance, and security of core network services. You will take ownership of our enterprise network, with a strong focus on managing our Cisco-based environment and ensuring secure access through Network Access Control (NAC).
Key Responsibilities
Core Network Management: Day-to-day, you will be responsible for the health of our LAN, WAN, and data centre networks. This includes proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Advanced Routing: You will design, implement, and troubleshoot complex routing scenarios. A deep, practical knowledge of OSPF and BGP is essential for this role.
Cisco Environment Management: You will be our subject matter expert on Cisco technologies. This includes:
Managing our Cisco SD-WAN solution to ensure reliable and efficient connectivity.
Deploying, managing, and troubleshooting our Cisco Wireless infrastructure.
You will play a key role in network security initiatives, including Network Access Control (NAC), securing workloads, workplace, and endpoints.
Project Delivery: You will manage network-related projects from planning and design through to implementation and handover, ensuring they are completed on schedule and meet business needs.
Collaboration & Support: Work closely with our security, cloud, and systems teams to resolve cross-functional issues and act as an escalation point for complex network problems.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a hands-on network engineering role.
Proven, in-depth experience with routing protocols, especially OSPF and BGP.
Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco Wireless technologies (WLCs, Access Points).
Demonstrable experience in managing a Cisco SD-WAN environment.
Practical experience deploying and managing Network Access Control (NAC) solutions (e.g., Cisco ISE or similar).
Solid understanding of network security principles and experience with firewall management.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across complex network environments. Industry certifications such as CWNA or CWSP demonstrating deep expertise in Wireless Networking.
Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent cloud networking certifications
Bonus Points for Automation Experience:
While not a day-one requirement, we are on a journey to enhance our network operations through automation. Experience in this area would be an advantage. Tell us if you have experience with:
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar to provision and manage network devices.
Scripting: Utilizing languages such as Python or PowerShell to automate routine network tasks and workflows.
Improving Efficiency: A mindset geared towards identifying opportunities to automate manual processes, making our network more efficient and reliable.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 122,400 - 182,600 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
