Title:  Sr. Counsel

Job Summary:

NetApp, a multi-billion dollar technology leader and highly sought-after employer, is adding a Senior Counsel to join its award-winning legal department. The successful candidate will support the company’s product legal functions. S/he will be responsible for providing legal support to NetApp's on-premise, enterprise, software platforms, and hybrid cloud data management systems. This attorney will work closely with the Company’s technical and business organizations to support their products and services. This position is based in the Company’s San Jose, CA or RTP, NC. Other locations with a NetApp office will also be considered.

We are looking for a highly motivated, tech-savvy, attorney with at least 8 years of experience in hardware, software, on-premise, and hybrid cloud high-tech industries.

Job Responsibilities:

Job Requirements:

• 12 years of experience in intellectual property, product development, and go-to-market issues
• Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills, including extensive experience in complex technology transactions, partnerships, and alliances, etc
• Ability to build credibility, advocate, and influence business and other teams
• Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple simultaneous projects under pressure
• Strong collaboration skills across teams and organizations
• Occasional travel may be required
   

Education:

• Bar admission in any jurisdiction with good standing, with relevant experience at a law firm and in-house directly in the tech industry. In-house experience preferred
