Job Summary

As the Channel Sales Manager for the Netherlands, you will manage Channel Sales Representatives in your geographic area.  You are strongly motivated to meet or exceed key revenue, customer satisfaction, new customer target, or other key channel performance metrics.  You are responsible for developing strategy, setting goals, developing plans and schedules, closely monitoring success factors, driving issue resolution, and accepting the responsibility for ensuring successful achievement of sales goals. 

This position is based from our EMEA HQ. 

Essential Functions

Your focus is on supporting sales in your area to several identified channel partners.

  • Develop, modify and execute Channel Sales strategies that will positively affect sales goals.
  • Implement new processes, policies and procedures for the department.
  • Manage lead generation campaigns working with NetApp partners in Marketing.
  • Allocate resources as needed to close sales.
  • Monitor and report on sales and performance.
  • Attend sales call appointments with Channel Sales Rep’s to support sales opportunities. 
  • Work with Channel Sales Representatives on developing account management plans.
  • Build and strengthen relationships Channel partner organizations, interacting primarily with Management and Executive Level customers and prospects.
  • Develop proposed budgets for approval and assure adherence once budget is approved.
  • Take responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.
  • Implement new marketing strategies.
  • Review forecast/pipeline and other performance analyses and reports; create action plans based on results of analyses. 
Job Requirements
  • Fluent in Dutch and English with strong verbal and written communications skills including presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship building and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with functional peers across functions including Marketing, Sales Operations, System Engineering, and Product Development.
  • Strong understanding of storage technologies and competitive offerings in the marketplace.
  • Experience with target account selling, solution selling, and/or consultative sales techniques.
  • An aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems.
  • Experience as a Channel Sales Representative with a track record of exceeding assigned sales quotas in contiguous, multiple years. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with Sales organizations and technical teams.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Experience with developing budgets and predicting project costs.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage professional level employees.

    • Sets revenue targets and ensures targets are met.

    • This level of manager successfully manages subordinate level managers.  Management direction includes checking work against objectives set.
    • This individual must effectively work with, and influences senior managers through executive level employees, functional peers and/or major customers.
    • The interactions of this individual require strong people skills, such as negotiating with customers or management, or attempting to influence ssenior level leaders regarding matters on an organizational level. 
    • Acts in a leadership role within the function and across functions.
    • Receives Senior Management review of objectives to determine success. 
Education & Experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as an individual contributor and 3 years as a people manager is desired.
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in a technical field is required; a Graduate Degree is preferred.
  • Experience which demonstrates a strong level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell NetApp products and services is required.
