Job Summary

Data Scientist Intern at NetApp

As a Data Scientist Intern at NetApp you will work intensively with multiple teams, primarily Finance, Sales Operations, IT and Marketing. You will help to set up and drive projects that optimise our Data Analytics capabilities. You will analyse data and make recommendations to improve our Reporting & Decision making. Your engagement in each of the phases of the internship will continuously evolve. As a result, your activities would ultimately cover a broad range of activities. You will also develop and deliver reports to a cross functional EMEA team and you will develop tools that drive our business intelligence.

Job Requirements


Your role will be focused on but not limited to:


  • Determine the scope of the business problem and objectives of the data exploration project
  • Exploration and collection of data that will help solve the stated business problem
  • Clean and organize collected data to prepare it for the further modelling procedures
  • Create the model using data mining techniques that will help solve the stated problem
  • Draw conclusions from the data model and assess its validity. Translate the results into a business decision
  • Participate in the Gross Margin improvement initiative
  • Assist in preparation of Financial Reports
  • Day-to-day support to the EMEA Financial Planning & Analysis Team
  • University student or equivalent (not yet graduated), currently studying an Information Studies or Data Science related degree discipline.
  • Fluent in English verbal and written.
  • Experience with Office 365
  • Basic understanding of programming (Python, pandas or scikit-learn is a big plus)
  • Strong communication skills.



 6-12 months and is based in our EMEA Headquarters in Schiphol-Rijk.
