NetApp is seeking a highly motivated Tax Manager to support the global tax provision, US tax compliance and tax audits.  The role requires someone dedicated to continual improvement of existing processes, technology solutions and documentation including workpapers.  The right candidate should be able to drive results independently and work collaboratively with the greater cross-functional team.  This position will be based in Durham, North Carolina, and will report to the Director, Tax Operations located in North Carolina.   

Job Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
•    Prepare various aspects of US GAAP world-wide tax accounting and reporting.
•    Assist with the analysis and documentation of FIN 48/ASC 740-10 and FAS 5 reserves.
•    Research, analyze, and implement the impacts of accounting standard changes and tax law developments.
•    Help analyze tax accounting and reporting requirements for business combinations, debt and equity offerings, and other major corporate transactions.
•    Ensure proper documentation and compliance with SOX 404 internal control requirements.
•    Support the domestic income tax compliance process including the identification of potential tax saving opportunities.
•    Manage domestic income tax audits and inquiries by governmental authorities. Maintain concurrent, audit-ready workpapers and financial records for all filings.
•    Drive process improvements and implement technology solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.


Required Skills & Background:
•    Bachelors or master’s degree in Accounting and/or Tax
•    CPA preferred
•    Minimum 6 years of public accounting and/or corporate tax department experience with a global, multi-billion-dollar company
•    Solid knowledge of ASC 740 and tax regulations 
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with other members of the team
•    Self-driven with the ability to suggest solutions and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
•    Growth mindset and willingness to embrace change
•    Collaborative and positive attitude
