Job Summary

As a Head of Systems Engineering, ASEAN in NetApp’s Sales function, you are responsible for directing all aspects of the Systems Engineering organization for your assigned Region including pre-sales support for selling NetApp’s products or services to existing and future clients. You develop long-term strategies and short term plans to meet aggressive performance goals. You must be extremely results driven, customer focused, technologically savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships.

Essential Functions:
The overall responsibilities of the Systems Engineering Manager are to provide management oversight to Systems Engineers and for growth and development of the function including selecting, hiring and developing results-oriented professional employees. Specific areas of responsibility include:

• Participate in strategic planning sessions with the Sales Management team on a quarterly and annual basis to create a local sales and marketing plan to drive revenue.
• Communicate sales and marketing strategies and plans to employees within your Region.
• Plan and direct activities including planning and implementing forecasts, marketing program development, relationship development, customer satisfaction, and collateral material development and distribution. 
• Identify needed resources for supporting sales strategy and develop a proposed budget for Senior Management review.
• Review management plans with other District Managers on a regular basis.
• Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure departmental goals are met.
• Keep senior management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.
• Assume responsibility for result, including costs, methods and staffing.

• This individual manages the coordination of activities for a specific geographic region or territory, with full responsibility for oversight in terms of costs, methods and staffing.
• May act as an advisor or subject matter expert to unit or sub-unit.
• Sets revenue targets and ensures targets are met. 
• Provides input on design of the incentive plans.

Interaction: 
• This level of manager successfully manages subordinate level supervisors.
• This individual must effectively work with, and influence senior internal personnel within the function, peers in other functions, and has direct customer contact.
• Has the ability to gain cooperation of others through leadership, mentoring, management and interpersonal skills. 
• Receives Senior Management review of objectives to determine success.

Education

• A minimum of 10 years of experience as an individual contributor and 3 to 5 years as a people manager is required in an enterprise pre-sales team.
• Must have a good understanding of IT landscape
• Experience with Cloud Storage Technology is a plus
• A Bachelor of Arts of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science; or related field is required; a Graduate Degree is preferred. 
• Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell NetApp products and services is required.
• Specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth.
