Job Summary

We are currently hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work with us building NetApp Kubernetes Service on our Operations Management Team.   As a Senior Software Engineer within NetApp Kubernetes Service you’ll be responsible for how clusters are provisioned and managed for our customers. This includes providing reliable networking, flexible storage solutions, and scalable compute resources in a way customers can deploy them effectively at the press of a button.


Our customers utilize most major cloud providers with workloads varying from GPU powered machine learning to low latency API solutions. You will work to build world class tooling around managing Kubernetes infrastructure, big and small, to enable our customers to scale their workloads as needed.  



NetApp Kubernetes Service offers customers a simple click-to-deploy production kubernetes cluster and can be used across Azure, Google Cloud, and Amazon Web Services. We closely follow and participate in the upstream kubernetes community so that we can provide our customers with codified best practices they can build their products on.


Job Requirements

You will:

  • Build best-in-class automation for managing Kubernetes cluster of all sizes.
  • Build tooling for second day operations to ensure customer clusters reflect current best practices.
  • Automate remediation of CVEs for technologies our customers rely on.

Go, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Packer


We expect from you:

  • Expertise in one or more programming languages ie. Python, Go, Rust
  • Collaborative team oriented individual with a growth mindset
  • Production experience with Kubernetes
  • Production experience managing infrastructure on at least one major cloud provider
  • Aptitude for breaking down complex distributed systems into smaller maintainable components
  • Hold yourself and peers to a high bar when producing code or working with production systems

We have invested in Go, Kubernetes’ Cluster API, and Packer to bring a cohesive story for kubernetes cluster management to our customers across the major cloud providers. You will automate common cluster operations such as creating and destroying clusters, expanding existing clusters, recovering from node or zone failures, and many more.


Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
