Job Summary

As the Chief of Staff to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), will be a member of the CHRO Leadership team to help grow, scale and run the business more effectively.  In this role, you will help manage the business through three primary functions:   Business Insights and Analytics, Strategic Analysis and Communications and Project/Program management. You will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and manage resourcing plans, enabling our team to execute and innovate at speed. You will serve as a critical partner with senior leaders on ad hoc projects ranging from business decision support to working with external partners. Finally, you will serve as a Program Manager for key projects, driving both the strategic vision and project execution forward. 

Job Requirements

 

Ensure effective, on-going communication of the HR strategy to both internal and external stakeholders and business partners as appropriate.

 

Work with HR functional teams to ensure communications are consistent, balanced, and professional, representing Human Resources in the best possible manner.

 

Drive clear and consistent communication of priorities across the HR organization while ensuring that barriers and risks to those priorities are identified early and managed effectively.

 

Develop a key performance indicators (KPI) dashboard and competitive insights for use by Executive team to manage the business.

 

Establish and lead operating processes and tools for effectively managing the organization, including actively tracking key trends in lagging/leading metrics. 

 

Provide insightful data-driven strategic recommendations to leadership. Communicate findings from initiatives to management and the broader organization. 

 

Partner closely with other functions relevant to the team, including Communications, PR, Marketing, Finance, Legal and Operations.

 

Use cross-functional knowledge and seek to understand issues, trends and perspectives that may influence the business. 

 

Monitoring progress against deadlines and milestones (e.g. Board Meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews, Strategic Planning, etc.)

 

Drive the HR Leadership team towards clear, efficient and accountable decision making.  Distill and cascade core tenets of the HR strategy for the Board, leadership and other internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Manage the process for defining and prioritizing strategic initiatives, including the identification of emerging initiatives and the calculation and measurement of project benefits with practical ROI and KPIs.

 

Develop common methodologies where appropriate and ensure they are implemented. Own the initiative master plan and course correction processes.

 

 

Organizational Optimization:

 

Organize and chair monthly review meetings with relevant strategy and initiative owners.

 

Identify potential roadblocks in the delivery of strategic initiatives, including the management of interdependencies and resourcing.

 

Recommend corrective actions where appropriate, including escalation or unblocking of organizational issues; provide team support to initiative owners where required.

 

Initiate frameworks for managing the performance of high visibility initiatives. Determine how and where these initiatives need intervention, review, realignment and potential reset.

 

Manage the overall strategic framework, assisting the CHRO staff and business leaders in increasing its effectiveness in identifying multiplier opportunities, accelerating the definition and planning of priorities and opportunities at CHRO and Executive level.

 

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to judge situations accurately and quickly, grasping complexities, identifying key issues and applying sound judgment.

Education

BS/BA or equivalent; technical undergraduate program of study with an MBA or advanced certifications strongly preferred.


A minimum of 10 years of relevant business and commercial experience
