Job Summary

The Compensation function within NetApp is an in-house center of expertise and consulting team. This team provides leadership and guidance in the development and delivery of effective compensation strategies and policies that support NetApp’s goals, and are in alignment with enterprise values, philosophy and strategic direction. The successful candidate will be client-service orientated, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize and work well in fast moving and competitive technology environment.  


As a Compensation Analyst, you will be working closely with other compensation analysts, managers, HR Business Partners, and Recruiting teams to solve compensation-related business problems. You will support the activities to development, implementation and administrate compensation policies and program.



Job Requirements


  • This position will be managing all annual and quarterly compensation surveys including Radford, Culpepper, Willis Tower Watson and Mercer
    • Work with HR Systems and Process team to collect, retrieve, format employee reports for survey activities. Load and manage the survey submission information in
    • Analyze survey matches and composite information to determine company’s competitive positions
    • Audits jobs for content and prepares job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements.
    • Utilize salary surveys to develop salary grades and structures that conforms to established guidelines, policies and practices.
  • Reviews requests for new or revised job codes and classifications and work with HRSP/ talent acquisition to determine appropriate course of action.
  • Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommends appropriate courses of action.
  • Maintains internal database files and tables.
  • Under the Sr. Director’s guidance, may perform ad-hoc analysis on subjects such as incentive compensation plans, equity programs or focal tool testing. May include administration of domestic and/or international programs.


Experience, Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Human Resources or related discipline preferred.
  • Requires minimum 2 years of compensation experience and knowledge in job evaluation, market analysis and determination of salary grades/bands/classification.
  • Experience with Radford Global Surveys
  • Experience with market pricing systems such as Towers Watson Reward, Mercer Prism, Market Pay or or equivalent system also a plus.
  • Tech company experienced candidates will have highest priority
  • Interest in analyzing data, and the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making.
  • Demonstrated spreadsheet skills, and familiarity with other statistical packages. Detail-oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills, able to present data and recommendations in an organized and logical manner to all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and requests from multiple sources.
  • Ability to optimize/build efficiencies, simplify and streamline processes.
  • Resourceful with an ability to operate with limited information
  • Able to handle highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

 Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Human Resources or related discipline preferred
