Title:  Business Process Architect

Job Summary

As a NetApp Business Process Architect, you are part of a team of professionals who plan, design, and implement process and application capabilities that enable new business models and achieve cost, quality, and efficiency goals. Strong business acumen, subject matter expertise in software subscription, consumption, and capital-based operational models, project management, influence and communication skills, along with experience of defining to enable desired business goals are keys to success in this role.
You will provide key inputs to initiative prioritization, resource management, budgets and project plans. This is a challenging, high visibility role working in a fast-paced environment.  You must be extremely results driven with strong business process architecture competencies, skilled at building relationships, and leading cross-functional teams.
Essential Functions:
  • Lead business architecture initiatives focused on new software business models to enable end-to-end commerce capabilities including quote/order, licensing, entitlement, fulfillment, billing and revenue recognition. Efforts will include definition of the process/business requirements, business case creation, benchmarking, process design, application and data requirements, new role definition and policies
  • Determine, present, and gain approval from decision makers and stakeholders of all deliverables (e.g., charter, business case, design directions and recommendations, requirements, roadmaps, etc.)
  • Provide end-to-end expertise during the implementation of new product offerings and provide analysis of billing and invoicing issues that arise during the NPI cycle. 
  • Design operational processes and provide business requirements. Collaborate with IT to define solutions in alignment with IT architecture roadmap that will achieve stated goals and balance technical, timeline or budget constraints
  • Conduct process and business analysis and present results and recommendations
  • Define project plans, resource requirements, costs and project schedules
  • Ensure program milestones and objectives are met with expected quality. Provide clear and timely status
  • Develop metrics that provide data for process performance assessment to identify difference-making opportunities
  • Collect data to identify root cause of problems
  • Provide content and deliver required training and communications in support of business readiness activities
  • Survey and analyze industry practices for consideration in designing new operational capabilities and processes
  • Develop and create communications plans to affected customers and stakeholders

Job Requirements

  • Experience in successfully implementing software business model commerce capabilities focused on quote/order, licensing, entitlement, fulfillment, billing and revenue recognition.
  • Strong group facilitation skills
  • Effective cross functional collaboration
  • Strong subject matter expertise on one of more of the following: software subscription, licensing, entitlement or subscription and consumption billing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; including presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined measurement criteria
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Proven experience in transformation and process improvement methods
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Strong user of Microsoft Project, Excel and Visio
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple concurrent initiatives

    • To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through leadership and influencing multiple individuals and groups.
    • Often acts as mentor or facilitator.

Education

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience is required.
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree is required or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex projects focused on software only commerce capabilities with emphasis on quote/order, licensing, entitlement.
