Job Summary

The Portfolio Analyst is primarily responsible for three functions within the Technology Investment Management (TIM) team: TIM financial tracking and analysis, TIM financial governance, and TIM portfolio value capture and analysis. This involves collaborating with Finance to manage the detailed tracking of all TIM organization and project financials, including AOP targets, TIM-Approved targets and project forecast and actuals. This individual also plays a strong role within TIM portfolio governance to provide project approvals and to ensure that project financial projections meet the required guidance, expectations and financial policies. Finally, this person drives the methodology and execution for the overall portfolio business value capture, ensuring that the TIM portfolio accomplishes and can report on its value goals, including quantifiable hard and soft benefits, in a consistent, reliable and timely manner. This is a highly collaborative cross-functional role and this individual is expected to have a strong understanding of NetApp business, technology projects, project governance, and IT delivery methodologies.

Essential Job Functions:

− Define and maintain financial management processes and the financial tracking model for TIM
- Perform financial analysis and recommend courses of action to optimize TIM finances

- Apply finance expertize including knowledge of financial policies and best practices to TIM financial models, processes and reporting

− Liaise with IT and Business Finance managers and staff; very strong collaboration with the IT Finance team

-  Participate in TIM governance process meetings, including concept commit, execute commit and quarterly review processes; liaise with TIM offshore resources on governance decisions and recording

-  Participate in TIM Team meetings and annual and quarterly planning events
- Develop processes, templates and tracking for TIM portfolio value capture, and work directly with project teams, project business owners, Executive Strategic Technology Council (ESTC) members, Finance managers and others to develop metrics and reports for TIM portfolio value


Job Requirements

− In-depth knowledge of financial management in a technology project delivery environment
− Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills, including the ability to create complex financial reporting and tracking for a portfolio of 50-100 projects

− Knowledge of PPM tools and project governance processes
− Sound business and technical acumen

-  Strong organizational, planning and people leadership skills
− Robust interpersonal skill, including ability to message to technical and non-technical audiences
− Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all organizational levels
− Ability to thrive in a dynamic business environment where priorities can change quickly
− Excellent analytic and problem solving skill and ability to identify win-win solutions
− Strong facilitation, teaming, influencing, collaboration, and negotiation skills


− Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) and/or equivalent work experience required
− 3 - 5 years of hands-on financial management experience in a technology company
