Job Summary


Job Summary:

As a Corporate Strategy Associate you provide analytical support in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementation of strategic business objectives.   You are responsible for providing financial and market data analytics and developing strategy insights for discussions with the executive teams, drive corporate strategy development and management processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent communication and execution.


Job Requirements

Essential Functions:

·Assess overall NetApp business strategy and context including:

-Market and industry landscape and dynamics

-Key industry and technology trends

-Major players and competitors

-Key evaluation criteria of build vs. partner vs. buy

·Perform research and data analysis to support the strategy development and strategy discussions

·Independently lead and direct cross-functional initiatives for project management and cross-functional alignment

·Work independently with senior executives to gain buy-in and support on project findings

·Develop key messages and presentations to communicate strategy messages to internal and external audiences



·Excellent written and verbal communication skills; especially presentation skills. Good financial acumen and understanding of general financial terms of a high-tech company

·Excellent analytical skills and modeling experience, exposure to various analytical tools

·Ability to lead virtual teams and work cross-functionally

·Strong experience in business and strategy development, ideally in the high-tech industry

·Solid knowledge of the high-tech industry and related markets

·Tolerance of ambiguity, mature, and an excellent team player


Management and Interaction:

  • Management
    • The focus of this role is on corporate strategy development
    • The recommendations made by this individual have significant operational and financial impact
    • This individual will apply in-depth knowledge to solve broad issues that are complex in scope and help establish medium- to long-range plans.



  • Interaction:
    • This individual must be able to work effectively across all levels of the organization, including up to senior management 
    • This individual will likely interact with a most functions of the corporation, in particular, Finance, Sales, and Engineering



  • A minimum of 3-4 years of experience as an individual contributor
  • A Bachelor of Sciences Degree required with a focus in Business or Technology
  • Strong knowledge of storage technology industry and high-tech markets preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, critical projects is required
