Job Summary

As a Finance Manager you play a key role on the Field Operations Finance team, supporting Channel and Global Systems Integrator (GSI) business. This individual is responsible for supporting VP’s and other leaders in the organization as well as their operational staff. This includes deep understanding of contra revenue and applying financial modeling skills to help business planning decisions, reporting and summaries as required by Corporate Finance, Business Partners, or Compliance regulations. You will interface with cross-functional peers and managers and have an opportunity to contribute across various business challenges.

The ideal candidate has proven success in working with cross functional teams, operational staff, finance peers, and is a very organized key contributor with effective communication skills. You must have the ability to lead and execute on cross functional projects and work well within a team environment.


Essential Functions:

This role has responsibility for a wide range of financial support and analysis tasks. You will help to ensure that business objectives are met. It includes but is not limited to:

• Leading contra revenue discussions for the company.

 

• Consolidating contra revenue forecast at WW level and assisting with the close process.

 

• Collaborating with Geo Channel Controllers and Channel team to launch programs, roll up forecast and other reporting, as necessary.

 

• Business and Decision support with NetApp’s Contra programs and measuring their success

 

• Business and Decision support for VP of GSI business.  • Preparing and driving operational and financial metrics in support of key decision making.

 

• Participating in projects related to Financial Systems and Enterprise Reporting activities to align on data definitions and reporting.

 

• Preparing and driving operational and financial metrics in support of key decision making.
– Managing actual expenses against quarterly budgets. Report forecast, actuals, and all comparisons to Field Operations Finance at month-end / quarter-end.
– Working with operational teams to forecast spending and effectively utilize budgets and set priorities.
– Managing and tracking activities to determine actual expenses and identify accrual needs and cross-charges.
– Modeling and forecasting headcount and lead Annual Operating Plan for your business.

 

Job Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Contra revenue accounting.
• Good understanding of Contra Programs and its operational processes

• Strong business modeling skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills as needed to work successfully with staff and managers within and outside of function or the company.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and on cross functional teams.
• Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas.
• High energy, self-motivated individual with the ability to multi task and work both independently and effectively within a team in a fast paced, dynamic, corporate environment.
• Ability to work in a project based environment.
• Ability to follow standard accounting and finance practices, and departmental procedures and processes.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Hyperion Essbase skills a plus.


Responsibility and Interaction:

• Responsibility:
o The types of tasks this individual is responsible are a mix of structured and unstructured tasks. This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.

• Interaction:
o This individual interacts primarily with Staff to VP level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.
o General direction is provided on routine work, and detailed direction is provided on new projects and assignments; as well as on-going review of activities and priorities.
o The ideal candidate will be an important contributor on projects.

 

Education

• 8 years of experience managing expenses, forecasting and budgeting preferred. Experience supporting operational and business staff members.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles required.
• BA or BS in business, finance or accounting or equivalent degree required.
• Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical tasks.
