This leadership role will develop and execute NetApp’s long-term strategy on Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (‘DI&B’) on a global basis.  We fully embrace and advance a diverse, inclusive global workforce with a culture of belonging that leverages the backgrounds and perspectives of all employees, customers, partners, and communities to cultivate a higher performing organization.  Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this new leader will have proven experience creating and implementing long-term DI&B strategic initiatives and programs alongside shorter-term projects that tie into the greater goals of the business.  The role will be a key member of the HR Leadership Team, but the mandate is to ingrain best practice DI&B across all businesses and locations within NetApp.  The DI&B Head will partner with leaders across the organization to understand the current state and needs of their respective businesses and functions, then develop and execute leading-edge plans to leverage diversity, inclusion, and belonging programming to identify and narrow gaps across a range of key areas including recruiting, employee engagement, compensation & benefits, workplace policies, inclusion practices, and other key areas.

•    Deliver inclusive leadership and mitigating bias learnings for all levels of management
•    Launch of Global Business Impact and Allies groups
•    Advance a global culture where leaders and employees are modeling diverse and inclusive behaviors which increases innovation, higher performance, and customer satisfaction.
•    Align and embed Global Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging initiatives into the strategic work of the organization
•    Measure progress through commitment and accountability

Job Requirements

Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
•    Act as an internal and external thought leader on DI&B initiatives to ensure that NetApp continues to refine and elevate how we approach these critical topics
•    Develop a multi-pronged DI&B strategy for NetApp to build a high-performing culture and a diverse and inclusive workforce by delivering solutions, training, tools, resources, marketing, and communications strategies covering key DI&B areas
•    Create and own programs that will enhance belonging, leveraging employee resource and affinity groups; advise Global Business Impact and Allies groups and related teams
•    Develop and support leadership that is committed to becoming a more diverse and inclusive organization
•    Partner with HR and business leaders to drive recruiting efforts and participation in strategic events; develop specific, measurable goals for various HR initiatives including candidate slate diversity, talent management program outcomes, and retention
•    Integrate the DI&B strategy into business processes such as recruitment & onboarding, performance management, leadership development, total rewards, employee engagement, and retention; enhance NetApp brand as a diverse employer and track progress on these initiatives
•    Produce, collect, analyze, retain, and disseminate pertinent DI&B information and introduce best practices and creative initiatives to NetApp’s leadership team; bring a quantitative, results-focused approach to the DI&B function
•    Partner with Corporate Communications and Marketing teams to communicate NetApp’s DI&B approach in a way that aligns to the company’s culture and inspires to create a diverse and inclusive company
•    Bring a quantitative, results-focused approach to the DI&B function by leveraging relevant data and metrics to tell a narrative and develop DI&B goals for the business
•    Manage risk appropriately by considering perspectives and starting points of the business, employees, and relevant communities
Compliance Responsibilities
•    Serve as the compliance subject matter expert in the areas of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA), and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program (OFCCP)
•    Oversees EEO, AA, and OFCCP reporting to applicable government agencies. Establish and implements reporting and audit procedures to ensure timely compliance with applicable laws and regulations
•    Partner with other areas of HR and business units to ensure that Affirmative Action plans are developed, approved, and implemented
•    Understand current national and local regulations related to DI&B themes, keep apprised of changes to policies, and maintains current knowledge of industry best practices; communicate human resources policies, general issues, and regulatory requirements

Ingredients for Success
•    12+ years HR or related business experience in developing, articulating, implementing, and measuring strategic DI&B programs at an enterprise level
•    Business / HR Leadership experience with direct people leadership responsibility and a proven ability to develop talent
•    Excellent written and verbal communications and public speaking skills; ability to interact, influence, and collaborate successfully with employees across all levels of the company
 


 

Education

BS/BA degree or equivalent related experience .
