Job Summary

As part of IT Transformation, we have adopted IT Service Management methodology in an effort to become a services-led IT organization and the BRM (Business Relationship Manager) role is foundational and core to the success of this transformation and IT.


The Finance Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will report to the Sr Director, IT Business Engagement team.  The selected person for this role will be responsible for the overall partnership and business relationship with the Finance business functions including Corporate Controllership, Record to Disclose, FP&A, Tax, Treasury and Internal Audit. As the overall IT Service Owner for the Finance IT Services and supporting business capabilities in the Finance domain you will partner with the business and act as a trusted IT/Technology advisor. He/She will be the key IT representative to the business for all IT Service and collaborate and engage with other IT teams such as Enterprise Architecture, Business Application Delivery, Business Applications Support, Business Analytics and Foundational Services to deliver these services.  


He/she will partner with the delivery teams to provide support to the entire software development lifecycle of major software projects that vary in scope and complexity. The position must work effectively with individuals at all levels of business and IT including managed service providers. This role wil involve multiple management meetings, such as the weekly IT Managers meeting, bi-weekly and/or monthly Functional Review meetings, IT Steering Committee meetings, project reviews, prioritization meetings, budget review meetings and driving some of the discussions and prioritizations during the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) meetings. A key success factor for the individual in this role will be to work collaboratively with numerous IT and business teams as a general manager.

Experience leading business transformation, process reengineering, robotics process automation and application rationalization is preferred.

Job Requirements

The primary responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • As a Service Manager has overall accountability for defining the service, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with agreed business requirements, and managing the service lifecycle in conjunction with a Service Team
  • Build and manage a high performing team of business facing professionals (Business Systems Analysts & Solution Architects)
  • Develop and maintain the Finance Service Strategy and Business Application Roadmap by working collaboratively with Business Partners and Enterprise Architecture team
  • Drive quarterly business reviews with business stakeholders as part of the Service Meetings
  • Drive project governance and phase gates including Concept and Execute Commit. Lead effort for approvals thru the IT and Business governance processes and then transition the project to the Delivery teams for execution
  • Provide vision, strategy and leadership in creating, evolving and delivering NetApp’s 3-year Enterprise Applications Road Map

Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills


Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in Business Partnership, Consulting and/or Relationship Mgmt
  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent
