Job Summary

Manager, Social Media


The Manager, Social Media will lead NetApp social media function and reports to the Director of Social & Influence. This role carries the brand voice of NetApp on social media channel, keeping it engaging and fun for prospects and customers. We are looking for a strategic thinker who is truly passionate about social media, familiar with all major social platforms, and driven to lead and grow a team to effectively impact social and business KPIs. This role requires broad collaboration with NetApp global marketing, communication and business units thus top-notch communication skill is a must. This role is based in NetApp global headquarter in Sunnyvale, California.



  • Develop, implement and execute global social media strategy and plan to deliver social KPI with business impact
  • Supervise the social media team to manage NetApp’s social media handles, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, blogs and other relevant channels
  • Manage the overall social media editorial calendar, while also curating, generating, publishing and sharing content daily
  • Lead social strategy and plan for major events, product launches and company announcements
  • Collaborate across global teams & business units to ensure brand consistency and track channel success across NetApp’s global social media ecosystem
  • Identify and evaluate emerging social channels, features, applications, platforms, tools and strategies
  • Produce regular reports on competitive analysis, audience growth, engagement and trends
  • Provide strategic direction to employees on the impact of social media and how they can effectively use it on their personal and professional lives


Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field, master/MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of social media & digital marketing on a global scale. People management experience is preferred.
  • Top-notch verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong copywriting skills & be skilled in areas of photo and/or video editing
  • Must have prior experience managing social media platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube to achieve business objectives for brands/companies
  • Experience with social media management systems, such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, SproutSocial, etc. Ability to understand huge amount of data and make data-driven decision.
  • Understanding of relevant features, metrics and KPIs across a variety of platforms
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Travel as required (Less than 15%)
BS/BA degree or equivalent related experience. 8+ years -- plus add additional experience requirements needed if you were to fill an open requisition, i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities.
