About the Position
As Product Lifecyle Program Manager, this individual will be responsible for managing the New Product Introduction efforts as well as strategic Cloud Lifecycle Management initiatives.  He/ she will facilitate the NPI planning, transfer and operations efforts and strategies that best support our customers and partners. Data driven, s/he will work closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing Sales and other groups to develop strategies to achieve business objectives and provide governance through effective prioritization and allocation of resources to achieve strategic goals. Reporting in Cloud Business Operations team, this person will lead and coordinate activities across operations functions including to ensure effective and well planned on time product launches. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Field Readiness activities for New Product launches 
  • Provide input and process for innovation of tools, metrics, and analysis for cloud release management
  • Work with members of executive staff, product management, and other functions to plan and communicate releases to align with business objectives 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain agility of new product introductions while aligned to the overall NetApp business operations
  • Develop and roll out processes related to integrating Cloud PLC to the overall new product development and product lifecycle process
  • Follow up on key NPI processes to enable the Operations team to support the NPI builds or change management implementation timely
  • Resolve complex cross-functional problems and issues
  • Keep management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected results.
  • Liaise with marketing / sales to support customer beta and change submission. 
  • Ensure that program objectives and deliverables are accomplished in a timely fashion to meet product launch requirements. 
  • Interact with Operation and extended team, not limited to engineering and field support, to support program deliverables after product transfers, including Engineering change throughout the product lifecycle
  • Provide a leadership role to the release team of professionals from Engineering, Test,  Marketing, Operations, Finance and Global Services functions, to drive all pertinent process  and  operations related to the release life cycle.
  • Work with the management team to identify release level risks and mitigation plans

Education & Qualifications

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s degree is required, a degree in an Engineering or Science field is preferred
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years Project Management role in complex and fast moving environment is desired.  PMP is preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of product lifecycle, tools, processes, and operations planning.
  • Experience in new product introductions, launches, life-cycle management is required
  • Ability to provide leadership in a team environment to meet aggressive goals and re-defined metrics requirements.
  • The ability to manage project/program risk is required
  • Ability to coach and develop people and utilize customer-focused decision making is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present to management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
