Job Summary

As a Senior Financial Analyst you provide financial support and/or analysis in budgeting, planning, business processes, or reporting to a portion of a functional organization or to more senior finance staff.  You will perform economic research and studies, develop financial modeling to help future business planning decisions, and create reports and summaries as required.  You will interface with cross-functional peers and managers and have an opportunity to contribute across various business challenges. 

 
Essential Functions:

The Senior Financial Analysts’ role has responsibility for a wide range of financial support and analysis tasks.   You will help to ensure that departmental objectives and project deadlines are met.   The essential functions of the department include:
 

  • Business Partnering: you'll work hand-in-hand to build scalable solutions to complex problems, rooted in data and analytics
  • Build and oversee revenue to gross margin forecasting models for monthly, annual, and long-term strategic planning processes
  • Analyze operating and financial trends and identify opportunities and develop alternatives to improve performance
  • Develop, own and manage financial models to support key initiatives and business decisions
  • Partner deeply with teams across the organization
  • Provide input and analysis on key expense trends and metrics
  • Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts
  • May focus on an area of specialization
  • Integrate financial processes and operations of the business
Job Requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills as needed to work successfully with staff and managers within and outside of function
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and on cross functional teams
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities
  • Ability to work in a project-based environment
  • Ability to follow standard accounting and finance practices, and departmental procedures and processes
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
     

 

Responsibility and Interaction:

 

  • Responsibility
    • The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions
    • This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems

 

  • Interaction:
    • This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects.  There may be communication with employees in other functions as required
    • Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities
    • The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects
    • To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others

 

Education
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required.  6 to 8 years of experience is preferred
  • A University Degree or equivalent experience is required
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks
