Job Summary

The IT landscape is evolving, and NetApp along with it. NetApp has aligned to a business unit structure around our three corporate imperatives and taken a new approach in serving the global, enterprise and commercial segments. In order to execute on the opportunity ahead of us, it is imperative that we position our worldwide technical team to lead the industry in effectively serving our customers in this competitive environment.
To this end, NetApp is creating a World Wide Tech Team Enablement Office. Aligned with the four geos, three business units, and other cross-functional organizations, this team will engage and collaborate on key initiatives—empowering our technical team to be more nimble, effective, and efficient. Dedicated to the constant improvement of solutions engineering, this team will:
•Support solutions engineers across all geographies and market segments
•Assume a leadership role in fostering and improving communications with the BU’s for all segments of the WWFCO technical team
•Assist in assuring field readiness for the SE, PS, and CSD teams around the world.

As a Technical Business Enablement Manager in NetApp’s Worldwide Tech Team Enablement Office, you will utilize strong technical competencies, broad industry awareness, and a customer + field centric approach to ensure that NetApp’s technical team is enabled and motivated to drive adoption of NetApp’s portfolio of technologies, particularly emerging and strategic products aligned to its 3 business units:
•Cloud Services Business Unit (CSBU): Enabling customers to adopt the public cloud
•Cloud Infrastructure Business Unit (CIBU): Enabling customers to build private clouds
•Storage Systems and Software Business Unit (SS&S): Driving the adoption of Flash technology

You will be identified as a primary contact from the Tech Team Enablement Office for a defined geo (Globals, Americas, EMEA, or APAC) as well as a defined business unit (CSBU, CIBU, SS&S) or cross-functional organization (i.e. NetApp University, Channel). At the same time, you must be highly collaborative within and beyond the team in order to support a matrixed organization spanning 3 business units, 4 sales geos, 7 continents, and many cross-functional departments.

You will be required to lead specific work streams that make the world wide technical team more capable and efficient.

You are responsible for guiding/aligning with sales and SE leadership to define/execute short and long term objectives that empower NetApp’s technical team to lead the industry.

Job Requirements

The ideal individual for this role will exhibit the following characteristics:
• Understanding of NetApp’s business unit and go-to-market structure and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization with minimal direction
• Ability to work collaboratively with peers across functions including Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Professional Services, Customer Support, and Product Development.
• Thought leadership, with proven success collaborating, influencing, leading change and driving progress related to initiatives / charter
• Strong knowledge of NetApp portfolio including product positioning, solution applicability, and overall value proposition.
• Autonomy in identifying, socializing, and executing on opportunities to improve tech team readiness
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills.

Success in this role will require the following activities:
• Coordinating with assigned business unit for tight alignment with the field technical teams across all geographies and market segments (=4 geos).
• Participating in strategic planning sessions with the SE Vice Presidents and sales management team on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Aligning with / guiding business units and NetApp University to ensure that NetApp technical team has the resources, processes, and tools to articulate and differentiate NetApp strategy, technology, and value to solve our customers’ most pressing challenges
• Effectively manage workstreams that involve cross-functional collaboration and mobilization
• Building stakeholder map, support and business case to execute on goals / projects
• Establish success metrics and implement practices to track and report key indicators and escalate/intervene if needed
• Identifying opportunities for accelerated growth and areas of risk – and working with functional organizations to capitalize on growth opportunities and resolve factors related to areas of risk.
• Represent tech team perspectives to NetApp business units, leaders, and other functional teams
• Maintain a role as a customer facing resource in order to remain knowledgeable and relevant

Education

• 8 to 12 years of experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills are imperative
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or another relevant academic discipline or equivalent experience is required. A Graduate degree is preferred
