Job Summary

Spot by NetApp is looking for an outstanding Product Marketing Manager to help drive our continuing growth and expansion. This is an important role that is vital to the success of our efforts to build awareness, thought leadership, and demand for Spot’s market-leading products targeting DevOps users and use cases.

Spot established itself as a rocket ship from the start, reaching $10M ARR in under one year, and is continuing its rapid growth as a key driver for NetApp’s public cloud business. 
This Product Marketing Manager will have a critical role within Spot’s marketing team, focusing on our product lines for DevOps and helping to distill our technology and value proposition into compelling messaging and content that successfully engages prospects, customers, partners and more. This person will have the opportunity to collaborate with, shape, and learn from the rest of our marketing team as well as key stakeholders across the company to identify and drive impactful projects and results for our current and future DevOps products. 
Responsibilities (what you will do):

  • Distill our technology and value proposition into powerful, compelling and differentiated messaging, positioning and stories that target DevOps users and use cases 
  • Work closely with sales, marketing and product leadership to generate compelling content in a variety of forms including web copy, blogs, datasheets, whitepapers and presentations 
  • Collaborate with product teams for our DevOps products to understand product roadmap and to develop and implement coordinated plans for launches and announcements 
  • Work together with our demand generation team to support campaigns and initiatives for DevOps products and audiences across campaigns and events 
  • Help to educate and enable our sales and partner teams to sell the value and differentiation of our products and solutions 
  • Ultimately become the go-to person for messaging and customer-facing content for our DevOps products and solutions
  • Manages strategic and business decisions related to product or services, product creation, development, positioning and marketing.

Job Requirements

Skills & Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of experience in a product, solution or technical marketing role 
  • Strong understanding and relevant experience related to cloud and SaaS market and to products targeting IT audiences 
  • Strong skills distilling and communicating the value of technical products into clear, differentiated messages and value propositions to diverse audiences 
  • Bonus for experience and understanding of DevOps processes, roles and technologies and experience marketing to DevOps audiences 
  • Fast, motivated learner with the ability to quickly grasp the key capabilities and value proposition of complex technologies 
  • Self-starter able to excel in a fast-moving startup environment 
  • Team player able to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally within our global team 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
