As a Inside Sales Manager, you will...

In Netapp, the “Inside Sales” function is known as Virtual Sales function.  
“Inside Sales” rep is known as Commercial Territory Rep (CTR). 
As a Manager of Virtual Sales, you will manage the Virtual Sales activities for NetApp products. This challenging position provides leadership and management oversight to Virtual Sales representatives. You develop short to mid-term plans to meet assigned revenue goals and key metrics. You must be results driven, customer focused, tech-savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships. 


Job Requirements

・Provide direct management oversight to a group of CTRs to drive all pertinent issues related to designated sales strategy and sales quota attainment. 
・Enable the operations – sales processes and tools - of the Virtual Sales function in assigned territory.  
・Plan and direct activities that would drive towards business goals attainment.  These include collaboration with the Channel, Marketing and Sales Development teams in the creation of such activities.     
・Conduct business hygiene management with CTRs: review sales activities metrics, pipeline management, forecasting accuracy. 
・Foster close working relationship with cross-function teams to support the growth of the business: Sales Development, Channel team, Channel partners, Marketing, System Engineers.     
・Attend quarterly business reviews and lead discussions specific to assigned territory. 
・Weekly review/update on the business, and provide credible forecasting to Direct Manager and Area Leader.   
・Coach, develop and enable CTRs to meet productivity expectations.   
・Engage subject matter experts from relevant functions to support the delivery of enablement activities. 
・Manage the team’s development and staffing to ensure departmental goals are met.  This includes managing attrition and hiring to avoid risks in the business.  
・Keep senior management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results. 
・Fluent in Japanese and English 

Preferred Characteristics

・Familiar with and experienced in Virtual/Inside Sales operations 
・People management experience and have the disposition to coach, nurture and mentor  
・Has aptitude to use a wide set of data effectively to provide credible pipeline forecasting and business management  
・Set targets for key performance metrics  
・Has keenness for processes and operation efficiencies.  Not afraid of going into the details to search for solutions.  
・Able to understand and articulate storage and data management technology products and solutions to provide sales enablement to relevant teams and customers (where necessary). 
・Strong business acumen and related market knowledge to be able to have effective business planning  
・Work collaboratively with different functions including: Sales, Channel team, Channel partners, Marketing, System Engineers, Sales Development  
・Strong verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills 
・Results and action-oriented; not a philosopher 
・Have a burning desire for success, and is proactive in seeking and offering solutions      
・Strong relationship building and negotiating skills.  Embrace problem solving and not problem avoiding 
・Good at managing ambiguity and flexible to adapt to changes.   
・Has the ability to gain cooperation of others thru leadership, mentoring, management and interpersonal skills. 

Education & Experience

・Tertiary education 
・Priority to candidate with Inside Sales experience in vendor sales organisation 
・5 years people management experience 
・Technology industry experience
