Job Summary

Professional Services Consultant: Develops and delivers detailed technology solutions through consulting project activities. Responsibilities include client identification through final invoicing for engagements requiring varied interpersonal and technical skills. Technical responsibilities include problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment. Performance is typically evaluated based on utilization, (i.e., billable hours). Project management activities include interaction with company and client managers and cost/schedule monitoring. May have some financial responsibilities including project cost estimating, proposal generation, and invoicing. May participate in sales and proposal presentations in addition to completing ongoing team account activities. Identifies additional product/services opportunities in customer organization. Performance is typically measured by the capture of the consulting engagement and/or delivery of agreed solutions within budgeted hours.

Job Requirements

- Proficiency in one of the following NetApp Specialty Solutions:- SAN, Exchange, Databases (Oracle, SQL), DR/BC, Compliance or Grid Computing- 2 to 4 years of consulting and/or project management experience implementing NetApp specialty solutions.- Prior consulting experience including providing strategic and tactical planning for data management and delivery systems.- Broad exposure to a variety of technologies/concepts in a distributed environment.- Experience in project managing storage solutions.- Excellent analytical/problem solving abilities, leadership and sales skills.- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, customer, business and negotiation skills.- Direct people management experience with the ability to drive the activities of multi-person customer, partner and NetApp consulting teams. - Drive the selection and business negotiation with consulting partners.- Up to 85%+ travel required.Responsibility and Interaction:- Responsibility: - The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions.- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.- Interaction: - This individual must work effectively with staff to vice-president level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.- Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments, as well as review of activities and priorities.- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others.

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
