As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will...

NetApp have made a ‘big bet’ on providing data management solutions through public cloud providers. Our growing Cloud Data Services team is looking to bring in a talented technical individual who is motivated to make a difference to our company’s success with Microsoft Azure.

This position will be based in Tokyo, Japan and operate in a presales capacity, working to identify candidate workloads, architect appropriate solutions, design and run proof-of-concepts and onboard customers into active consumption. Much of the customer engagement will be done hand-in-hand with the Microsoft sales teams, where we are providing the technical expertise on cloud services offered by NetApp and Azure (specifically Azure NetApp Files). There is also an evangelism side of the role; we need someone keen to spread the word about how our technology enables innovation in Azure. The focus geography for the role will be Asia-Pacific but there will be some activity outside of that area.


Job Requirements

Primary Requirements: 

  • Minimum 3 years of Technical Pre-Sales experience. A presentation ninja, ability to shape use-cases using deep technical demos and workshops. Passionate to engage and excite business as well as technical audience. 
  • Minimum 2 years experience with implementation/solutioning of Hybrid Networks (Peering, VPN Gateway, Express Routes), Security (Encryption, NSG, UDR, Access Keys/Certificates) and Storage offerings (Azure Files, Azure NetApp Files, Managed disks). 
  • Some experience with Identity management services : Active Directory (AAD and Domain Services), Kerberos, LDAP. 
  • Passed (or preparing) one of following Azure certification : AZ-900, AZ-100, AZ-102, AZ-103, AZ-300, AZ-301. 
  • Strong English and Japanese language skills to support native customers. 

Secondary Requirements (one or more preferred): 

  • Experience with NetApp’s ONTAP storage concepts, solid experience with File storage (NAS and SMB). 
  • Solutioning/implementation experience of Infrastructure services for SAP S/4 HANA, HPC, VDI, Databases and Analytics solutions. 
  • Fluency with container orchestration and container runtime concepts and solutions using Docker and Kubernetes. 
  • Experience with implementation/management of Cloud Security, Governance and Compliance standards (GDPR, HIPPAA, PCI, ISO, FIPS).
