Job Summary

This position is for a Storage Management Consultant with expertise in NetApp data storage systems, consisting of both NAS and SAN environments with associated fiber channel switches. A strong background and experience with NetApp’s core technologies is required to be successful in this role. The candidate will be required to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support end customers accessing storage services within the customer environment. 
 
***This position is located in Suitland, MD. ***
***DOD Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility required.***

Job Requirements

•    Responsible for the deployment, advanced configuration, security, and maintenance of highly available enterprise data storage systems
•    Develop implementation and data migration plans as may be required and execute those plans in accordance with customer change management process
•    Proactive monitoring of storage system operations and providing utilization reports to identify problems and corrective actions as needed
•    Observing performance on FC network and NAS attached storage systems, troubleshoot any performance problems, and apply near-term fixes that result in long-term solutions
•    Engage in troubleshooting as may be required to assist in restoring data services and overall production operations 
•    Restore data from one environment to another at the request of the application or service owners 
•    Provide input and develop documentation for standard operating procedures (SOP)s that result in repeatable processes for installation, setup, and operations of the customer’s data storage environment 
•    Develop and publish team vetted storage standards and policies as needed

 

Desirable Skills/Experience:
•    Experience in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, high-quality environment 
•    Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail
•    Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and senior managers in a team environment sharing best practices, meet aggressive goals, and meet high-quality standards
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint
•    Experienced in the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support
•    Proficient in Data ONTAP and NetApp technologies including SnapMirror, SnapVault, SnapCenter, etc.
•    Experience with NetApp StorageGRID technology, Santricity and E-Series platform and ONTAP FabricPool
•    Extensive datacenter switching background with storage protocols to include ISCSI, FC, FCoE and NFS
•    Experience with 3rd SQL, Oracle, Exchange, VMware, SharePoint; in particular as they relate to NetApp Storage
•    Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud technology
•    Scripting experience, particularly PowerShell

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience. 

Requires a current or active TS/SCI clearance or TS with SCI eligibility

Bachelor's Degree and/or applicable certifications (as listed below) preferred, but not required.

  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
  • At least one or more of the following NetApp certifications:
    • NetApp Certified Technology Solutions Professional
    • NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA)
    • NetApp Certified Storage Installation Engineer
    • NetApp Certified SAN Implementation Engineer (NCIE-SAN)    
    • NetApp Certified Backup and Recovery Implementation Engineer (NCIE-BR)

USA and Canada Residents Only:

The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is $156,000-$190,000. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law.  In addition, the position may include some of the following comprehensive benefits such Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws, Company bonus/commission, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s).
