Job Summary

The Sr. Solution Architect will be a critical contributor to the success of Cloud Insights by creating and presenting internal enablement materials for customer-facing teams (sales and sales engineering) as well as writing externally-facing technical marketing collateral. In a fast-changing market there are new needs arising constantly, so the candidate should be efficient and effective at creating polished content and changing directions frequently. The candidate will also be customer-facing and responsible for evangelizing the product externally and to our sales team, directly with customers and at major industry events.

This role requires the rare talent of technical understanding of hybrid infrastructure management software and the ability to translate those concepts into written materials and presentations appropriate for a variety of audiences – from a brand new sales rep to a VP of Infrastructure at a Fortune 500 company.


You will lead the creation of the following types of content:

Sales playbooks, Competitive battle cards, Detailed use cases, Customer case studies, Data sheets, Customerfacing presentations, Product FAQs, Demo environments, Elearning courses for internal NetApp training, Create and present technical and strategic presentations to customers and gather feedback to influence product and solution offerings. Interpret field feedback to generate strategic direction.  Bring your technical background as the foundation for becoming a Subject Matter Expert in the hybrid infrastructure management market. You will continue to build your expertise with continued internal and external education and collaboration with industry experts.


Essential Functions:

Manage the direction and execution of technical customer and sales team collateral/communication, with your team (Product Management) and other stakeholders. This role often interfaces with Technical Directors, Product Marketing, Sales (SE, field and channel partners), and other Business Units and industry contacts and thus you will need to build productive relationships and networks.

  • Ability to plan, outline and publish professional technical documents on schedule.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise professional manner, tailored to the appropriate audience; including both verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to lead across business unit teams and have strong influencing skills at the Senior and Executive level.
  • Problem solve difficult technical problems across business units without management assistance.
  • Broad technical and strategic knowledge of products or solutions in several subject matter areas. Ability to build your network and become known as a subject matter expert within the industry.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Creates and fosters a collaborative environment.



  • The tasks you will be responsible for are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches.
  • You will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope and scale requiring indepth evaluation.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in authoring technical, externalfacing content as well as project conceptualization and planning, is preferred.
  • Public speaking skills are preferred.
  • Startup experience is a plus.
