Job Summary

We are recruiting a technical evangelist who will drive our communication efforts both internally with Sales and externally at conferences, executive briefings and directly to our growing customer base.   Working with engineering teams and technical leads the ideal person will be able to describe why’s, what’s and how we deliver the innovative solutions to customers needs.   The team manages a portfolio of innovative products leveraging machine learning and anomaly detection to monitor and troubleshoot, Cloud, microservices and on-premises technologies.  To be successful the person will need to be hands on with the latest technologies and be able to articulate clearly their value to organizations. 

This role requires the rare talent of technical understanding of modern infrastructures, Cloud, management software and the ability to translate those concepts into written materials and presentations appropriate for a variety of audiences – from a brand new sales rep to a VP of Infrastructure at a Fortune 500 company.


You will lead the creation of the following types of content:

  • Sales playbooks
  • Competitive battle cards
  • Detailed use cases
  • Customer case studies
  • Data sheets
  • Customer-facing presentations
  • Product FAQs
  • Demo environments
  • E-learning courses for internal NetApp training


Essential Functions:

  • Manage the direction and execution of technical customer and sales team collateral/communication, with your team (Product Management) and other stakeholders. This role often interfaces with Technical Directors, Product Marketing, Sales (SE, field and channel partners), and other Business Units and industry contacts and thus you will need to build productive relationships and networks.
  • Create and present technical and strategic presentations to customers and gather feedback to influence product and solution offerings. Interpret field feedback to generate strategic direction.

Job Requirements


  • Ability to plan, outline and publish professional technical documents on schedule.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise professional manner, tailored to the appropriate audience; including both verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to lead across business unit teams and have strong influencing skills at the Senior and Executive level.
  • Problem solve difficult technical problems across business units without management assistance.
  • Broad technical and strategic knowledge of products or solutions in several subject matter areas. Ability to build your network and become known as a subject matter expert within the industry.
  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Creates and fosters a collaborative environment.



  • The tasks you will be responsible for are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches.
  • You will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope and scale requiring in-depth evaluation.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions.



Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.

  • Public speaking skills are required.
  • A Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in authoring technical, external-facing content as well as project conceptualization and planning, is preferred.
  • fluent reading and writing in at least 2 programing languages preferred.
  • experience creating videos which explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences preferred.
