Hardware Development Engineer: Mechanical Engineer in product development/design of electronics products used in Data Center.  Evaluates reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plans, designs and develops electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, optical systems and/or DSP systems.

Job Requirements

- Looking for a mechanical engineer who has development/design skills for electronics products.  

- Skills/experiences in 3D CAD design, shock&vibration tests, temperature/humidity/altitude tests are essential.  

- Knowledges in materials (metals, plastics) and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, die casting, injection molding) are important. 

- Hands-on experiences with mechanical prototyping.   Skills/experiences in electronics cooling, product structures (Bill of Materials) are important. Having basic knowledge of computer server and data storage technologies is a plus.   Experiences in mechanical design documentation (2D drawing drafting) and Product Life Cycle tools is a plus.     The position will help an entry level mechanical engineer add skills and experiences.

- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. - Familiarity with basic concepts of design engineering, reliability, prototyping and failure analysis.- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards.- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies.- Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.- Creative approach to problem solving.- Proficient in technology and development.

- Responsibility and Interaction: Responsibility: - The types of tasks this individual is responsible for are a mix of structured and unstructured tasks. - This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.

- Interaction: - You will interact primarily with your direct manager and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions or in international locations as required.- General direction is provided on routine work, and detailed direction is provided on new projects and assignments; as well as on-going review of activities and priorities.- The ideal candidate works under the direction of another team member or project leader in a team role, and will be an important contributor to team projects.

Education

Must have graduated within the past 18 months or will graduate in May/June 2018 with a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.
