Title:  Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a Software Engineer, you will work as part of a team responsible for the development, testing and release of applications that manage, monitor, and interact with NetApp storage systems.

For this position, you will primarily be a contributor and maintainer of the Web Services API, our RESTful API for managing E-Series storage systems. Typical daily responsibilities include development/design of new features, maintaining existing code, resolving software defects, performance analysis, developing test automation, and writing documentation.

The emphasis of this team as a whole, is application awareness, improving customer experience, and providing excellent automation options for our partners and customers.

Our team is very dynamic, and developers will have the opportunity to work with a variety of emerging technologies, frameworks, and open-source projects. The ability to learn new skills quickly in order to meet the needs of our customers and the market is essential. This position requires an individual to be team-oriented, an independent thinker, a quick learner and driven to produce results.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:
* 2 years of software development experience
* 2 years of professional Java development experience (or extensive experience in related Object-Oriented languages)
* A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, a Master Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required
* Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments

Prefers:
* Experience with Java Web Services frameworks like Jersey and Spring
* 2+ years of Python or Ruby experience
* JavaScript, C#, Golang
* Git
* Build automation (Jenkins, Bamboo)
* Maven, Ant, or Gradle
* Containers (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
* Configuration Management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
* Cloud (Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)

 

Education

- A minimum of 2 years of experience is required. 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred
- A Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science or related technical discipline; or equivalent experience is required
- Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks
