Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Thermal Engineer to join our team and lead the design and development of enterprise storage platforms. As a Senior Thermal Engineer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient thermal designs that meet the functional and performance requirements of storage systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions, ensure product quality, and contribute to successful delivery of next gen storage platforms. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of mechanical and thermal engineering principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality results

Job Responsibilities

- Lead the thermal design and development of storage platforms, including concept generation, proof-of-concept activities, detailed design, prototyping, and testing.

- Perform thermal modeling and simulations using industry-standard tools and identify potential issues.

- Design and develop thermal management solutions for HPC systems, including heat sinks, heat pipes, liquid cooling systems, fan/blowers selection, and other advanced cooling technologies.

- Collaborate with internal and external hardware, mechanical, thermal engineering, and Software teams to integrate thermal solutions into product designs.

- Perform thermal testing and validation of prototypes and final products to ensure compliance with design specifications.

- Optimize thermal performance for efficiency, reliability, cost-effectiveness and acoustics.

- Define and validate thermal management policy across various environmental conditions.

- Stay updated on the latest advancements in thermal management technologies and industry best practices.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior thermal engineers.

Job Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master degree preferred, preferably with 10+ years of experience, product development in data center and enterprise storage.

- Strong knowledge of mechanical and thermal engineering principles, theories, and practices.

- Proficiency in 3D CAD and CFD softwares (e.g., Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Flotherm) for designing and modeling thermal systems.

- Strong understanding of air-cooling techniques: heat pipes, heat sinks, fans, and phase-change material

- Strong knowledge of heat transfer principles, thermal system design, and fluid dynamic.

- Familiarity with data center industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and product development is a plus.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 152,150 - 226,600 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
